Mysuru logs 34 new Covid-19 cases, 36 recoveries; tally at 53,073

Mysuru, January 20:- Mysuru district on Tuesday (January 19) reported 34 new Covid-19 cases and 36 new discharges, taking the tally of cumulative positive cases to 53,073 and 51,809 total discharges, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Out of 53,073 cases, 242 are in isolation at designated centres and stable across the district. A total of 7,55,700 samples have been tested in Mysuru district till the evening of Tuesday which includes both Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and RT-PCR tests.

For the last four days, Mysuru district has not reported any fatality and the death toll linked to coronavirus stands at 1022, the second highest in the state after Bengaluru Urban.

17 districts in the state reported coronavirus positive cases in single digit, 11 in double digit and Haveri has reported no new cases and deaths for the first three days.

Among other districts where the new cases reported are Chikkaballapur – 36 followed by Mysuru – 34, Dakshina Kannada – 25, Belagavi and Bengaluru Urban – 18 each, Shivamogga and Uttara Kannada – 17 each, Chitraduraga and Hassan – 16 and 10 cases respectively. (NAV)
