Mysuru raises its voice against rape-murder of veterinarian

Mysuru, December 2:- SC-ST Welfare Association, Azad Hind Sene, Karnataka Vidyarthi Yuva Vedike, students of Sarada Vilasa Law College formed a human chain at Ashoka Circle (Ballal Circle) on Monday to condemn the heinous rape and murder of veterinary doctor Dr Priyanka Reddy in Hyderabad last week.

The protesters said that the Hyderabad incident has made the entire humanity hang its head in shame and said the lack of capital punishment for the rape accused is the reason behind such increasing incidents. They urged the authorities to hang the rapists immediately to avoid such heinous acts in future.

Sridhar, Jayashankar, Suresh, Paranjyothi BR, Chandan Kumar, Sandeep, Nagendra, Prashanth, Gowri, Nandashri and others were present.

Students protest in Hyderabad on Monday

In Hyderabad, for the fifth consecutive day, protests continued in the city over the rape and murder of the veterinary assistant surgeon at Shadnagar last Wednesday.

Scores of students belonging to various colleges led by the ABVP took out a rally at Indira Park in the morning. The students holding placards condemned the incident and demanded stringent action against the suspects in the case.

The police who were caught unaware of the flash protest immediately barricaded the road leading to Tank Bund.

Meanwhile, another rally was taken out at Rajendranagar by the students of the Veterinary University. The students staged a sit-in and road blockade for a few minutes. (MR/GK)
