Mysuru registers 116 new Covid-19 cases; 98 recoveries

Prime News, Karnataka, Health, Disease, Mysuru, August 13:-Mysuru district on Thursday (August 12) reported 116 fresh coronavirus infections and 98 discharges, taking the cumulative caseload to 1,74,315 and the total recoveries to 1,70,792, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.

A single death was recorded in K R Nagar on Thursday and the toll has risen to 2332 in the district.

A total of 1,92,4928 coronavirus samples were tested till August 12, 11,471 samples were tested on Thursday alone.

Out of the 2332 deaths recorded so far, Mysuru city recorded 1666 deaths followed by Nanjungud – 128, Mysuru taluk – 125, T Narasipura – 105, Hunsur – 93, K R Nagar – 88, H D Kote – 65 and Periyapattana – 62.

Of the 116 new infections registered on Thursday, Mysuru city reported 73 positive cases followed by Periyapattana-16, H D Kote  and Mysuru taluk  records 7 each, Nanjangud – 6, T Narasipura – 4,  Hunsur – 3 and K R Nagar – nil.

Till August 12, Mysuru city registered 1,07,796 positive cases followed by Mysuru taluk – 13,877, 10,869 in Nanjangud, 10,360 in K R Nagar, 9887 in Hunsur, 8440 in T Narasipura, 7663 in Periyapattana and 5423 in H D Kote.

With 763 active cases in Mysuru city, the tally in the district stands at 1191 and the case count has further come down to below 2,000 as of August 12.

Periyapattana has 150 active cases, Hunsur – 78, Mysuru taluk – 68,  K R Nagar – 49, H D Kote and Nanjangud – 38 each, and T Narasipura – 7.

Till August 12, as many as 18 patients succumbed to mucormycosis (Black fungus) disease; 13 from K R Hospital, 4 from Apollo Hospital and one from Narayana Multispecialty Hospital and the district’s active cases increases to 19; JSS Hospital – 8, K R Hospital – 4, Columbia Asia Hospital Mysuru and Apollo Hospital – 3 each and Fort Cauvery Hospital – one.
