Mysuru registers 1,687 new Covid-19 infections; 12 fatalities

Mysuru, June 3:- Mysuru district on Wednesday (June 2) registered 1,687 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the tally of cumulative caseload to 1,45,655 and 12 new fatalities were also recorded. The death toll in the district has risen to 1,651, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.

1034 patients were discharged from the hospitals across the district and the tally of recoveries reached 1,28,757 as of Wednesday, the second district to achieve this after Bengaluru Urban in the state.

Of the 1,45,655 positive cases, 15,247 are active and stable in the district. 149 patients have been admitted to Intensive Care Units (ICUs), according to data available from the Health and Family Welfare Department.

On June 1, 463 new fatalities were recorded in the state.

Among the taluks in the districts, H D Kote recorded 42 new coronavirus cases, Hunsur – 116, K R Nagar – 136, Mysuru city – 876, Nanjanud – 154, Periyapattana – 88 and T Narasipura – 106.

In view of the rising number of coronavirus cases in the district and to address the grievances of the people with regard to Covid issues, the district administration has established Covid-19 helpline under Mysuru Metropolitan jurisdiction in three zones as follows:

Krishnaraja Assembly constituency residents may contact landline phone: 0821-2517922, 0821-2519222 for any queries, likewise people from Chamaraja Assembly Constituency and Chamundeshwari Assembly Constituency comprising MCC Wards 44, 45, 46 and 58 may call on phone: 0821-2519922 and 0821-2519522 and citizens from Narasimharaja Assembly Constituency may call on phone: 0821-2517422 and 0821-2515522 for any assistance related to Covid.

Apart from the above helpline numbers, the district administration has also established District COVID-19 War Room Helpline numbers as follows: 0821-2424111, 0821-2957711 and 0821-2957811. (NAV)
