Mysuru registers 253 new Covid-19 cases; tally at 12,304

Mysuru, August 21:- With a marginal decline in Covid-19 cases, Mysuru district on Thursday (August 20) reported 253  new cases, thus taking the tally to 12,304.

Bringing respite to the authorities, the district did not report a single death on August 20 and the death toll remained at 320. No patients were discharged on Thursday and tally of total discharges stood at 7,302. The active cases of virus load stood at 4,682 in the district.

The rapid antigen testing has been intensified in the district. The health officials have initiated a door-to-door survey across the city and in the taluks to gauge the extent of novel coronavirus spread and to identify asymptomatic patients.

Other than Mysuru, Bengaluru Urban continues to report higher mortality rates among the districts in the state as it has registered 25 deaths on August 20, taking the tally to 1,613.  Dakshina Kannada reported 294 deaths, Dharwad (258), Ballari (195), Kalaburagi (179), Belagavi (144), Hassan (146) and Davangere (141).
