Mysuru, April 3:- Mysuru district on Friday (April 2) reported 174 new Covid-19 infections, the highest tally for one day in over a month, the district also saw 108 patients getting discharged, taking the tally of positive cases to 56,093 and total recoveries to 54,185 respectively, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Of the total 56,093 cases in the district, 853 are active and stable. The district has not reported any new fatality and the death toll linked to coronavirus stands at 1055 as of Friday.
According to the Health Department’s data, till April 2, up to 3.30 pm, 29,282 beneficiaries among the Health Care Workers (HCWs) were inoculated in the first dose; 18,856 in the second dose. In the age group of 45-59-years, 22,532 beneficiaries were administered the jab in the first dose and 209 in the second dose, while in the above 60 years age group, 1,04,615 intended beneficiaries received the Covid-19 vaccine in the first dose, 473 in the second dose. A total of 1,93,891 vaccinations were administered in the state till Friday.
With regard to the Front Line Workers (FLWs), 13,080 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered in the first dose in the district and 4844 in the second dose.
Sample testing in Mysuru has crossed the 10 lakh mark as cumulatively the district has tested a total of 10,06,736 coronavirus samples till Friday (April 2) till 5 pm which were mostly RT-PCR methods. 7746 samples were tested on April 2 alone.
Six districts have reported more than 100 coronavirus cases in the state on Friday, while, Bengaluru Urban reported 3509 cases out of 4991 cases in the state. Of the six deaths recorded in the state, 5 are from Bengaluru Urban and one from Kalaburagi district. (NAV)
