Mysuru reports 50 new Covid-19 infections; tally reaches 54,337

Mysuru, March 12:- Mysuru district on Thursday (March 11) reported 50 new Covid-19 infections, the highest since the last month, taking the tally of cumulative positive cases to 54,337, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.

As many as 26 patients have been discharged after recovering from coronavirus infections and the total recoveries shot up to 53,124 as of March 11.

Of the total 54,337 positive cases, 178 are active and stable. The district has not reported any fatalities linked to Covid infection on Thursday and the death toll rstands at 1035.

As of March 11 evening, 25251 beneficiaries among the Health Care Workers (HCWs) were inoculated in the first dose; 14,421 in the second dose. In the age group of 45-60-years, 1142 beneficiaries were administered the jab in the first dose, while in the above 60 years age group, 10101 intended beneficiaries received the Covid-19 vaccine in the second dose.

With regard to the Front Line Workers (FLWs), 8902 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered in the first dose in the district and 113 in the second dose.

A total of  9,03146 coronavirus samples were tested in Mysuru district till March 11 evening, mostly RT-PCR tests.

The state recorded two deaths, both from Bengaluru Urban. Patient number 956239, a 68-year-old man succumbed to the infection with Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) with breathlessness at a private hospital, while patient number 965380, a 83-year-old  man breathed his last due to Influenza Like Illness (ILI) with fever and with co-morbidities.
