Mysuru, October 23:- Mysuru district on Thursday (October 22) reported less number of Covid-19 cases and fatalities as it registered 308 new infections and 4 deaths, taking its tally of positive cases to 46,172 and the coronavirus related deaths to 936.
With 1352 patients discharged on Thursday, Mysuru stands second among the districts in terms of more discharges after Bengaluru Urban. The tally of discharged patients stands at 41,238.
Of the 46,172 positive cases, 3998 are active in the district and have been undergoing treatment at Covid Hospitals/Covid Care Centres or in isolation.
To arrest the spread of contagious disease among the city residents, the district administration has established 22 Covid Testing Centres. The Mysuru City Corporation has also launched mobile Covid testing booths for the benefit of residents who are hesitant to visit the testing centres in fear of catching the infection.
The health department officials have been conducting free mass testing for employees at factories, establishments, government, non-governmental organisations, schools and colleges. The MCC officials have asked all the traders in Central Business District (CBD) to mandatorily undergo Covid tests to help identify the positive cases and treat them. (NAV)
