As part of air pollution control month, the Mysuru Regional Transport Office organised a rally on Wednesday at Chamarajapuram.
RTO officer Gangadhar flagged off the rally. Speaking on the occasion, he said: “The air and the environment are getting contaminated due to the increase in the number of vehicles in the city. Felling of trees has affected the weather in Mysuru. If the situation continues like this, it would be difficult to have pure air even to breathe. It is our responsibility to not pollute our environment.”
The rally which begun at RTO circle, went through Ramaswamy Circle, Shanthala talkies, Siddappa Circle and concluded at the RTO.
Assistant RTO Prabhuswamy, Charles, driving school teachers, emission testing officers, officials and others took part in the rally.
