Mysuru shootout: Will take action as per law, says CoP KT Balakrishna

Mysuru, May 16:- Mysuru Police have collected information regarding the shootout that occurred in the city on Thursday morning. Commissioner of Police KT Balakrishna visited KR Hospital to collect the information.

Speaking to media persons, the police commissioner said “The shootout took place at 9:45 am today. The gang members were in the city to exchange the demonetised notes. Vijayanagar Police Inspector B G Kumar carried out the raid based on a confirmed information. Three of them fired at the police. To protect the police staffs, the inspector fired at them and in the melee one of the accused was hit by a bullet and is dead. We will inform his family and take action according to the Supreme Court guidelines and Police Act. The case is now under investigation and will take action once it is completed.” (KS, NGB)
