Mysuru may get Special Commando Force, Tourist Police soon

Mysuru, October 23:- The heritage city of Mysuru being one of the leading tourist places in the country is likely to get a Special Commando Force (SCF) and Tourist Police personnel to bolster the safety and security for the tourists and visitors.

According to sources, the Mysuru City Commissioner of Police is planning to constitute a Special Commando Force on the lines of the Garuda Commando Force functioning in Bengaluru at present. The Mysuru Police has also plans to introduce ‘Tourist Police’ to assist the travellers visiting the city, sources said.

The Special Commando Force may be launched during next year’s Republic Day, police sources revealed.

“Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy who held a meeting with the city police officers recently to review policing suggested to come up with a special unit to facilitate and address the issues of tourists. Taking the minister’s suggestions, the police is chalking out plans to introduce Tourist Police.”
