Mysuru Warriors rope in 16 players from KPL, 2019 auction

Mysuru, July 29:- NR Group, the agarbathies to aerospace conglomerate and owners of Mysuru Warriors, participated in the players’ auction last Saturday at a private hotel in Bengaluru.

Mysuru Warriors roped in 16 players who will be representing the team in the eighth season of the KPL 2019. The warriors are ready with their squad to fight it out at the battlefield.

The players roped in during the auction are Amit Varma,  Aniruddha Joshi, Siddharth K V,  Kushaal Wadhwani, Vinay N Sagar, Shoaib Manager, Venkatesh M,  Devaiah K S, Saurabh Yadav, Manjesh Reddy, Sankalp Shettinavar, Shivakumar B U, Ram Sarikh Yadav, Jayesh Babu
15. Kishan Bedare, DegaNischal. Players retained: J Suchith,  Vyshak Vijay Kumar.

Mysuru Warriors have retained emerging fast bowler Vyshak Vijay Kumar and Mysuru’s very own J Suchith, a left-arm spinner with both state and IPL experience. These players bring the quality and experience the team needs.

“We are really optimistic about our new squad this year. Some of the promising young guns will flourish under the mentorship of the experienced players. We are confident this year’s KPL is going to be extremely entertaining with some good and exciting cricket,” said Arjun Ranga, owner, Mysuru Warriors.

Modelled on the lines of IPL, the 20-20 tournament is organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and will witness a competition between eight teams. Started in 2009, the KPL is now in its eighth season which will commence on August 16. The tournaments are scheduled to be hosted in Mysuru, Bengaluru and Hubballi.

Mysuru Warriors Team entered KPL in 2014 and emerged champions in the same season. Two-star players from Mysuru Warriors entered IPL in 2014 and the legacy continues. Most of the players selected by Mysuru Warriors have carved a niche for themselves in the Indian cricketing arena.

Mysuru Warriors aim is to give an opportunity to young cricketers to experience professional cricket under lights and in the high-pressure T-20 format. The team exhibited tremendous performance during last KPL and made it to semi-finals and will come back stronger this season. (MR)
