Mysuru’s first flyover inaugurated; will construct more in future: GT Devegowda

Mysuru, December 24:- The first flyover of the city constructed at Hinkal was inaugurated on Sunday.

District In-charge Minister G T Devegowda inaugurated the grade separator at the ring road junction.

The project was sanctioned in 2014. The estimated cost of the flyover was initially Rs 15.10 crore. Finally, it got constructed at a cost of Rs 23.50 crore. The state government provided Rs 4.55 crore, central government Rs 9.10 crore and Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) chipped in with Rs 9.83 crore.

The minister said that more flyovers will be constructed in future to avoid traffic problems.

Tourism Minister Sa Ra Mahesh, Chamaraja Constituency MLA L Nagendra and others were present.

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha appreciated the quality of construction of the flyover.

Flyover is 980 metres long and is 17.2 metres wide. It also has a service road. (MR/KS)
