Mysuru City Police Commissioner Dr Subrahmanyeshwar Rao inaugurated two new police stations at Hebbal and Alanahalli in the city on Friday.
The long-pending demand for two new law and order police stations for the city has been met after a long time. The new Hebbal police Station will have an additional jurisdiction of four km that includes Vijayanagar, Hebbal Industrial Area and Vijayanagar ring road. Alanahalli Police station will have Nazarabad, Mysore-Bannur Road and Devegowda Circle in its jurisdiction.
Addressing the media persons after inaugurating the two new stations Dr Rao said, “Both Vijayanagar and Nazarabad police stations had more areas to cover in their jurisdiction which had become a tough task for the cops. Both the areas have grown more and the crime rate is also on the rise. Thus these two stations will help the city police in controlling crime and maintain law and order in the region.”
Thimmegowdga will take charge as the Sub Inspector of Hebbal police station and Shekhar will take charge as the Inspector for Mysuru-Bannur Road police station.

The Alanahalli police station is situated in S D Jayaram extension, Devegowda circle on outer ring road, whereas the Hebbal Police station is near Shubodhini Choultry in Hebbal 3rd phase, Metagalli post.
