Naganahalli Satellite Railway Terminal: Minister GT Devegowda, MP Simha hold meeting with farmers

Mysuru, September 21:- District In-charge Minister G T Devegowda and Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha member Pratap Simha along with Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) Ajay Sinha paid a visit to the Naganahalli Railway Station where the construction of second Satellite Railway Terminal of Mysuru Railway Station is likely to come up soon.

The minister, MP and ADRM also held discussion with farmers of Naganahalli and informed them about the project and the need for more land. MP Simha said that the project needs more than 400 hectares of land and the DRP is going on. He said that the work will begin by March once the land acquisition process is complete. The new satellite railway station will ease the burden on Mysuru Raiway Station.

The Naganahalli Satellite Railway Terminal project is estimated to cost Rs 789.29 crore including the land acquisition, according to GT Devegowda.

Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar, Assistant Commissioner Shivegowda, Tahsildar T Ramesh Babu, senior railway officials and revenue department officers were present at the meeting.

Speaking to media persons, Minister G T Devegowda justified the statement of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy asking the people to ‘revolt’ against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP is not allowing the coalition government in the state to function and were against development works, he added.

Avoiding a direct comment on Kumaraswamy’s statement, MP Simha said nothing may happen by issuing statements and said that he would concentrate on development works in his constituency. (KS, NGB)
