‘Nagarahaavu’ revisits state; fans celebrate in Mysuru

Mysuru, July 21:- Members of Vishnuvardhan Fans’ Association celebrated the re-release of Vishnuvardhan’s blockbuster ‘Nagarahaavu’ after 32 years by distributing sweets and bursting crackers near Sangam Theatre in the city on Friday.

“Movie ‘Nagarahaavu’ was first released in 1972. The movie directed by Puttanna Kanagal has been a trendsetter in Kannada film industry. Everyone wants to watch the movie with their family even today. Re-releasing the movie with modern technology is a welcome move. Chitradurga Fort became well known after the release of Nagarahaavu. It is being welcomed with the same love and affection,” said MD Parthasarathy of the association.

Vikram Iyengar hailed the decision to re-release Nagarahavu with new technologies and said such efforts should continue. He requested the producers to provide a small amount of donation to install the statue of Vishnuvardhan at Vishnuvardhan Park here.
