Mysuru, February 16:- “Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar was hailed by everyone as Rajarshi for his governance. He ruled the state for the longest time,” said Tourism Minister Sa Ra Mahesh here on Saturday.
He was speaking after inaugurating a two-day seminar on the life and achievements of Nalvadi at Dasara Exhibition Ground, organised by the Department of Archaeology and Heritage.
“He made Mysuru as a model state. He became light for the state by constructing KRS Reservoir. It is our responsibility to remember him,” he added.
District In-charge and Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda released ‘Chamarajanagar Jilla Itihasa Mattu Puratathva’ book and said Nalvadi served social justice and contributed to the field of agriculture, health and education. He said that a documentary has to be made on this seminar to make everyone understand his contributions.
Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Deputy Mayor Shafi Ahmed, T Anil Kumar, historian Prof Nanjaraje Urs and others were present. (MR/KS)
