The nation can progress only if the officials and employees who have been serving in the public offices have true dedication and responsibility in serving the people, opined MLA H P Manjunath.
He was speaking at the Gram Panchayat (GP) employees’ conference held at Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhawan and launch ceremony for construction of toilets to end open defecation in the taluk.
The legislator called upon the employees irrespective of the departments they work in to know the pulse of the people and work accordingly within the guidelines of law.
Kanagalu Raghavendra, a farmer of Hanagodu Hobli and three other Asha workers who had constructed 200 toilets, bill collector for his meritorious service, pourakarmikas, waterman and employees of the panchayat were felicitated.
MLA Manjunath cautioned three officials including Bilikere Hobli Hussainapura GP PDO Annapura to work sincerely for the people and not indulge in corrupt practices. He assured to look into the grievances of GP employees’ salary issue including other demands and urged for procurement of equipments for pourakarmikas under the 13th Finance Scheme of As 1 lakh in GP Fund. Open defecation can be ended by identifying the real beneficiaries in GPs, Manjunath said and added that everyone’s dream can be realised under the government welfare scheme.
Taluk Panchayat executive officer Krishnakumar appealed the legislator to look into the grievances of GP employees and fulfil their demands at the earliest.
