Mysuru, December 15:- The All India Conference of BSNL employees will be held from December 17 to 20 at Jayamma Govindegowda Convention Centre in the city,” said secretary of the welcome committee C K Gundanna at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Saturday.
“The conference is being held once every two years in different states. This time, it will be held in Mysuru city,” he said.
“The conference will discuss about the problems of telecom industry, rejuvenation of BSNL, need of 4G spectrum for BSNL,” said the secretary of BSNL Employees’ Association P Abhimanyu.
“The central government’s support for Jio is making all the other telecom companies to struggle. Jio is giving services at lowest prices and this will eventually force all other telecom companies to shut down. An IAS officer who wrote a letter to TRAI opposing this was transferred to another department. It wouldn’t have happened without the alleged intervention of the Prime Minister. The UPA government’s lack of support to BSNL also badly affected the company. The protests of BSNL employees enabled the purchase of equipments. Now the present central government is also on the same path, which would affect BSNL,” he added.
Executive director of BSNL Anup Srivatsava, Sujata Tapan Roy, Balbir Singh, R Mani, Swapan Chakravarthy and others will be present.
M C Balakrishna, H V Sudarshan, N Subramanya, Mahatma Swamy and others were present. (KMR, NGB)
