The two-day sixth national Paralympic (sitting) volleyball tournament will be held at Chamundi Vihar indoor stadium in the city from tomorrow.
The tournament, conducted by Paralympic Volleyball Federation of India, will be held for two days in the city where teams from across the country including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra and Delhi will take part. According to President of Paralympic Volleyball Federation of India, H Chandrashekhar, the two-day tournament will serve as selection trials to pick players to take part in the Asia Paralympic volleyball tournament. The Asian paralympic tournament is scheduled to be held in the month of June next year and the shortlisted players will be part of a training camp which will be held in February next year.
Mysurean Vijay Rao Sindya will be leading the Karnataka team and the matches will be played on league cum knock out basis.
The tournament will be inaugurated by MLA M K Somashekar and Deputy Commissioner D Randeep will be present.
