Mysuru, February 29:- National Science Day to mark the birth anniversary of renowned scientist Sir CV Raman was observed at Vijaya Vittala PU College at Saraswathipuram in the city on Friday.
The principal of the college H Sathyaprasad inaugurated the event.
“Sir CV Raman was awarded Nobel prize for discovering the dispersion of light. It is a pride for India. He has guided hundreds of young scientists. With his truthfulness and selflessness approach, he helped in grooming scientists like Chandrashekhar. Students should not limit themselves to scoring marks. You have to develop the skills that are required. CV Raman proved to the world that India is rich in science and innovation as well. Students have to contribute to science and thus to the society,” he said.
