The ‘National Science Day’ is observed every year since 1987 across the nation to inculcate scientific culture among the youth and develop new innovations in science, and to create awareness on renowned scientists like Sir C V Raman, Satyendra Nath Bose and Meghnad Saha, said Karnataka Rajya Vijnana Parishat Mysuru unit convener R Anantharamu.
He was speaking at the National Science Day celebrations held at the Mahajana First Grade College (FGC) recently under the joint auspices of Mahajana FGC and KRVP.
Technology has gradually diversified and grown over the years and more research work is needed in pure science field, said Anantharamu. He called upon the youth to use science for the betterment of the country and curtail blind faith.
Manjunath of the Department of Physics, Mahajana FGC and College Principal Dr Prabhakar also spoke on the occasion.
The ‘National Science Day’ was observed jointly by Mysuru Mahajana First Grade College and Karnataka Rajya Vijnana Parishat (KRVP) in the city recently. KRVP convener R Anantharamu seen addressing the gathering on the occasion. From L-R, Shankar, Prof Prabhakar and Prof Manjunath were also present.
