Mysuru, March 2:- “Parivarthana Ranga Samaja, Arivu organisation are jointly organising a National Science Theatre Festival at Kiru Rangamandira at Kalamandir premises in the city from March 9 to 11,” said senior theatre person, S R Ramesh at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club here on Friday.
“Samantheto is staging play ‘Proof’ on March 9, Parivarthana is staging ‘Broken Blossom’ on March 10, followed by ‘Copenhagen’ play on March 11. All the plays will be held at 7 pm on all the days,” he added.
“Science and literature are two faces of the society. They have played a major role in all the aspects of the society since the 16th century. The science, which has no religion, has immensely contributed to the development of the society. Though science-related dramas are staged in western theatres, it has not been enacted to that extent in Kannada. The theatre festival aims at filling this vacuum,” he added.
Shivaji Rao Jadhav, Dr M C Manohar, Madhav Khare, Tejaswini Jois, Arun Murthy and others were present. (MR/KMR).
