Mysuru, January 30:- The Department of Special Education, All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysuru, is organising a two-day national seminar on ‘Traversing the frontiers of mainstream with autism spectrum disorders (ASD)’ on February 1 and 2.
ASD being a disability affecting development of communication and social behaviours in individuals, has adverse effect on the ability of individuals to survive and succeed in the mainstream school and society.
In this context, the programme will deliberate on strategies for successful mainstreaming of persons with ASD through presentations and demonstrations by expert professionals and experienced caregivers.
Professionals and trainees from the fields of speech and hearing, general and special education, psychology, social work, as well as caregivers are invited to participate and benefit from the workshop.
