Nayaka community demands more ministers’ post in HDK cabinet

Mysuru, June 11:- “The Nayaka community, which has 11 MLAs in the ruling coalition government, has been allocated only one ministry. It is an insult to the community,” said Dyavappa Nayaka at a press meet held at Mysuru Press club on Monday.

“The community has a population of 60 lakh in Karnataka. But we have been neglected by the ruling party. 17 MLAs have been elected in the May 12 Assembly elections. 11 MLAs are in ruling Congress and Janata Dal (Secular). But only one ministry is given for the community. Additional two ministries should be given to the community or else we will stage statewide protest led by Prasannananda seer of Valmiki Mutt. We will urge MLAs and MLCs of the community to resign,” he added.

Prabhakar Hunsur, Chudamani, Raghu Yadakola, K S Ganesh and Shivakumar were present. (KMR, NGB)
