“Compared to all other developing countries’ classrooms, the classrooms in our country lack knowledge acquisition by children due to a weak education system. We need to upgrade our education system in order to make our children more efficient,” said Prof H K Senapathy, Director, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi, here on Wednesday.
He was speaking at the three-day National conference on ‘Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Education’ at A V Hall, Technology block at Regional Institute of Education.
After inaugurating the programme, he said “The national survey has revealed that our classrooms are quite different from other countries’ classrooms. We have greater responsibility to use technology as tool in order to make our children more knowledgeable and be aware of the latest technology.”
“The definition of the word knowledge has evolved from time to time. It has witnessed drastic transformation with its nature and significance,” he added.
Prof D G Rao, Principal, RIE, Prof Rajaram Sharma, Joint Director, CIET and over 400 participants from various institutions across the country were present.
