“Steps have been taken to upload textbooks in regional languages of every respective state,” said National council of educational research and training (NCERT) Director H K Senapathy.
Addressing media persons at a press meet held in Regional Institute of Education (RIE) on Wednesday, Senapathy said, “New curriculum Framework (NCF) for the school education will be prepared after the declaration of the new education policy. The syllabus for the school education will have new thrust areas covered and would be formulated only after the NEP is announced. Till now the textbooks of the NCERT were available in English, Hindi and Urdu. Now steps will be taken to upload textbooks in regional languages of the respective states.”
“NCERT has proposed to launch e-content for classes 1 to 12 in about a year in addition to the existing e-patashala from where textbooks have been made available in digital mode,” he added.
The last new curriculum framework for school education was designed in the year 2005. Prof D G Rao, Prof C G Venkatesh of Regional Institute of education and others were present.
