Women’s Dasara: Differences come to the fore

Mysuru, September 22:- Differences do crop up when an important event is on. Women’s Dasara programme on Thursday witnessed a few ugly scenes, thanks to the indifferent members of the Dasara sub-committee. One of the invitees, Taluk Panchayat president Kalamma Kemparayamma was obviously piqued that no one was bothered to take cognizance of her presence.

None of the officials bothered to speak to the taluk panchayat president and her name was not even mentioned by the deputy director of women and child welfare department, Radha, during the welcome speech. Feeling humiliated, Kalamma left the stage in a hurry.

Speaking to City Today, she said, “I came here to take part in women’s Dasara on a. happy note. I didn’t even notice that they forgot to mention my name in the invitation. I am not bothered about it, but the festivities should be held without problems,” she said.

Several JD(S) leaders alleged that her name was left out deliberately.  (MR/KMR).
