New Mayor Sunanda Palanetra vows to work for Mysuru city

Mysuru, August 25:- Soon after winning the mayoral election on Wednesday (August 25), BJP’s Sunanda Palanetra said she would work hard for the development of the city.

Talking to the media, she said, “I am happy that my party is able to grab the post. I want to convey my thanks to all the party leaders and seniors. I would also like to thank everyone who helped me.”

A relative of former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Sunanda said she is going to meet him tomorrow (August 26).

She said, “I am sad that there was commotion after the election. I am not happy some of the councillors boycotted the elections. I request everyone to cooperate with me to develop the city.”

Till the last minute, everyone was of the opinion that Janata Dal (Secular) would toe the Congress line but decided to stay neutral. This is what angered some Congress councillors who decided to stage a walkout.  (MR/KS)
