New ‘Trin-Trin’ plans to benefit visitors during Dasara festivities

Mysuru, September 15:- Dasara festival being the biggest public event in the state which draws huge crowd and tourists to the city, the Mysuru district administration has come up with few new initiatives for ‘Trin-Trin’ services during the Dasara celebrations.

‘Trin-Trin’- the first public bicycle sharing system launched in the city few months back is now all set to reach more people during the Dasara celebrations. In order to facilitate the tourists and locals few new plans including short term membership plans, manned cycle stations, daily plan and other new plans are worked out. Sharing the details about the new plans, Deputy Commissioner D Randeep said, “In order to provide TrinTrin services to both these crowds, a few initiatives are being taken. Short Term Membership Plans has been prepared after discussions with the Mysuru city corporation (MCC) and The Directorate of Urban Land Transport. Purpose of these plans is to provide members with more options to choose from. These plans introduced during Dasara may be extended based on public feedback.”

As part of this Manned Cycle Stationswill be introduced during Dasara where three manned Cycle Stations at one at the Balarama Gate, second at the Ambavilas Gate and the third at the Varaha Gate are chosen. Each Station would have about 20 – 25 Cycles. Those who wish to avail this service should provide a valid Identity proof and can avail a Daily Plan. The Cycles borrowed at the Manned Stations have to be returned at one of the above mentioned Manned Stations.

QR code Based Usage

An all new QR code service will be available for Tourists who wish to use Trin-Trin for up to 3 Days or a Week. The User should download and register on the ‘My trin-trin’ app. Payment mode would be Credit / Debit card or NetBanking. The Cycles can be unlocked from any Docking Station using the QR code and can be returned at any other Docking Station. Smart Card wouldn’t be required.

Multiple Smart Cards for Hotels

Few hotels in the city have expressed interest in purchasing multiple Trin-Trin smart cards. As part of this the hotels will be provided with multiple Trin-Trin smart cards and tourists visiting or staying at their hotels can avail the smart cards at the same rate from them. The Hotel bears the responsibility for the use of Trin-Trin Cycles through these cards.

New Pedal assists cycles

Pedal Assist Cycles would be made available at important locations like the Chamundi Hill Foot and Palace on different days. Short rides to be provided to the Users and this plan will be introduced during Dasara and will be extended based on public feedback.
