  • Wadiyar family takes custody of Doddakere Maidan following the pronouncement by the Supreme Court in their favour

Following the pronouncement by the Supreme Court in favour of Wadiyar family over the ownership of football ground close to the Dasara exhibition, authorities from the Wadiyar family are said to have acquired the land and have started the construction work.

Mahadeva (55) of Abbur village of Kodagu district had grown corn in his 1.5 acre land and 2 acre land which he had taken for lease, but the crops did not yield due to scarcity of rainfall. He had taken a loan of Rs 4.5 lakh from SBM Abbur and unable to pay back the loan, he committed suicide by hanging outside his house.
