  • Cauvery water meeting: Thrashing the hopes of Kannadigas the Cauvery Supervisory Committee directs Karnataka to release 3000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu from September 21 to 30.



The committee comprised of   Union Water Resource Secretary, the chief secretaries of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu arrived at the conclusion, leading to another set back to the state of Karnataka. Karnataka Chief Secretary strongly opposed the move but Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary pressurised the Committee to release water.
