Mysuru: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, GSSSIETW organised the “Inauguration of NI LabVIEW Academy School (LAS) and five-day skill development workshop on NI LabView Module 1 – Core 1 & 2” recently. The LabVIEW Centre at GSSSIETW has now been recognised as authorised NI LabVIEW Academy School. The chief guest for the event was Visweswaran J, Territory Manager – Academic South, National Instruments, Bengaluru.
Dr Rajendra R Patil, NI LabVIEW Academy School Coordinator, Professor and Head, Dept of ECE, welcomed the gathering and briefed them about the roadmap to the establishment of NI LabVIEW Academy School in the Institute. He also mentioned about different activities planned under the Centre. Five faculty members of the different department of GSSSIETW are CLAD- certified and are authorised faculty members to train students on NI LabVIEW.
Visweswaran appreciated the establishment of authorized NI LabVIEW Academy School at GSSSIETW. In his keynote address, he asked the students to focus on three things namely, create opportunities by building a skill set, acquire knowledge by doing engineering and focus on continuous learning. He emphasised on how the knowledge of LabVIEW will broaden their career prospects by creating more opportunities, explore more core companies, entrepreneurship and higher studies. He assured them that their competent levels will definitely be boosted by this additional skill set.
Dr M Shivakumar M, Principal, GSSSIETW, delivered the presidential address. In his address, he briefed about the significance of NI LabVIEW Academy School (LAS) and highlighted that GSSSIETW is one among the 10 institutions to open the LabVIEW Academy School in Karnataka. More than 80 students of 3rd Semester ECE, TCE, EIE and EEE students registered for the 5 days skill development workshop. The workshop included hands-on sessions in NI LabVIEW Core 1 and 2. HoDs, Teaching and non-teaching staffs of various departments were present on the occasion. (MR).
