NIE Girls’ Hostel named after KVN

The renovated NIE Girls’ Hostel, situated at NIE-ITI campus, has been named after late Sri K V Narayan, popularly known as KVN, a renowned Chemistry teacher and Head Master of Sarada Vilas High School.

K N Krishna Swamy, son of KVN and also alumnus of NIE inaugurated the Hostel recenlty along with other family members of KVN.

Co-founder of Infosys and distinguished alumnus of NIE N R Narayana Murthy who was a student of KVN, generously contributed towards renovation of the hostel as a mark of respect and reverence to KVN. Recalling his days as KVN’s student at Sarada Vilas High School
Narayan Murthy said, “I can confidently say that apart from my parents, wife and my children, I learnt so much from KVN in life.”

Kumar Malavalli, Co-Founder of Brocade Communication Systems and distinguished alumnus, also recalled his wonderful days at Sarada Vilas High School. KVN was also a member of NIE Governing Council.

H N Ramthirtha in his welcome speech gave details of the hostel and appreciated Narayan Murthy’s gesture.  The other family members of KVN, Rukumni Krishna Swamy, Vimala Krishnamurthy, Sudarshan, Indira Sudarshan, P R Ravi and Nandini and N Suryanarayana were present on the occasion.

NIE Alumni Shivaram Malavalli and A N Prakash, NIE Hon. Secretary S K Lakshminarayana, Hon. Treasurer T K Chittaranjan, Directors, S L Ramachandra, R S Rajkumar and Rajagopal Kadambi, and Dr. G L Shekar were also present.
