NIE students bag TCS awards

Five students of the National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, have bagged Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) awards.  

Adithya of electronics and communication engineering has got the Best Student Award-2015 for his overall performance.  This award will be given to the students of 10 best institutes in Karnataka out of 100 in India.

The project, ‘Development of coconut dehusking machine’ carried out by Vikas K B, Divakara G, Sharath B D and Praveena of industrial and production engineering has been awarded as ‘Best Project.’  Maadhu G, assistant professor, is the project guide.  This award will be given to six colleges in Karnataka out of 75 colleges in India.

E S Chakravarthy, Bengaluru centre head, TCS, presented the award on Monday at the Freshman Day programme.  

D A Prasanna, chairman and founder of Ecron Acunova and chairman and founder, Manipal Acunova Ltd., Bengaluru was the chief geust. Members of the NIE managing committee including president Srinath Batni, vice president N Ramanuja, secretary S K Lakshminarayana, treasurer T K Chittaranjan and other directors and Dr G L Shekar, Principal and CEO, NIE and Srinivasa Ramanujam from TCS were present on the occasion.
