Nine from Mysuru killed in accident near Karkala

Mysuru, February 17:- A tourist bus from Mysuru met with an accident near Mala in Karkala on Saturday, resulting in the death of nine passengers, all from Mysuru.

The deceased have been identified as employees of Vital Records Pvt Ltd at Belagola Industrial area in Mysuru. Radha Ravi, Yogendra, Preetham Gowda, Basavaraj, Anuja, Shruti, Ranjita and bus driver Maruthi and the cleaner of the bus died in the tragic accident.

The bus rammed into a boulder on the roadside in the night which led to the mishap. The bus having 32 employees of Vital Records Pvt Ltd had gone on a tour. The company announced a holiday to mourn the death of the employees.

The Japanese-based company is mainly known for data entry. More than 60 employees are working in the company. More than 25 passengers on the bus were injured.

The axle of the bus allegedly got cut near SK Border section which resulted in the accident. Passengers who were sitting on the right side of the bus lost their lives. The injured are being treated at a private hospital. (MR/KS)
