Nirmala Saulabhya inaugurated atop Chamundi hills 

Nirmala Saulabhya, the first Green Public Convenience Facility was inaugurated by the Minsiter of PWD and District  In-charge Minister, Dr H C Mahadevappa here in the city on Monday.

The facility at the cost of rupees one Crore by Automotive Axles Ltd & Meritor India, Mysuru based industries is open for the tourists and devotees visiting Chamundi Hills between 6 am and 8 pm on all days.  This facility will be a carbon positive and water positive with 10 KLD water treatment plant and rain water harvesting.

Dr N Muthukumar, Chairman, CII Mysuru said that the Green Facility has 16 urinal points for men and 15 toilets for women; apart from regular toilet and two western toilets. Apart from this child care facility including breast feeding and separate toilet facility for specially abled persons is also provided. The entire building is lighted with solar power generated from rooftop. The sewage treatment plant enables to reuse seventy percent of the water which is used. The entire building is architecturally designed for green building; no need for light during day time. After going through all these facilities, Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), the green building certifying authority in the country, after inspecting the building a week back recognised the building as ‘Green Facility”.
