Mysuru, July 14:- Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar has clarified that there would not be complete lockdown in Mysuru. He was speaking to media in the city on Monday to allay fears that there could be another lockdown in the city.
“We will lock down some areas of NR constituency. Lockdown should not be done in an unscientific way. Cases will not come down because of lockdown,” he said.
“Our purpose is to reduce deaths. That’s why we will hold a survey after lockdown. We will do the antigen test to get result on the spot. We will follow the Dharavi (Mumbai) model on lockdown, chasing virus,” he said.
“There is no complete lockdown in Mysuru. We encourage self-lockdown. We will use the support from local people to control coronavirus,” he added.
He clarified that Mandi Mohalla, Subhash Nagar, Udayagiri, Kalyanagiri will only be locked down. (MR/KS).
