Prime News, State, (Bengaluru/Mysuru), April 25:-The timely action by district administration seems to be yielding results as no new Covid-19 positive cases were reported in Mysuru for the third consecutive day today (April 25).
One more patient has been discharged from the Covid-19 District Hospital on KRS Road in the city, bringing the total number of coronavirus patients being treated to 54.
Speaking to media persons in the city on Saturday, Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar said that all the employees of Nanjangud-based Jubilant Generics, a pharmaceutical company, have been tested for Covid-19 and four samples were rejected. These samples have been sent for testing and results are awaited, he added.
The Jubilant Generics link has now spread to Mandya district with P-481, a 37-year-old man who is a contact of P-78, an employee of Jubilant.
Meanwhile, 15 new Covid-19 positive cases surfaced in the past 19 hours in Karnataka, raising the state’s total to 489, an official said on Saturday.
Till date, 489 Covid-19 positive cases have been confirmed including 18 deaths and 153 discharges, said the health official.
Of the new cases, nine were men and six women.
Among the 15 new cases, Bengaluru Urban and Hirebagewadi in Belagavi accounted for 6 each and Mandya, Chikkaballapura and Bantwala, Dakshina Kannada – one each. Thirteen of the 15 cases were contacts of earlier cases.
On Saturday, all the six cases emerging from Bengaluru Urban were contacts of Hongasandra Covid-19 case, a 55-year-old man, designated as 419th positive case.
The civic body sealed off Hongasandra following multiple cases surfacing from the place where P-419 lived.
P-475 to P-480 belong to Bengaluru Urban except P-475 who is a 34-year-old man who had visited the BBMP containment zone, all others had contracted the virus from P-419.
P-476 is a 34-year-old man, P-477 is a 21-year-old youth, P-478 is a 17-year-old youth, P-479 is a 19-year-old youth and P-480 is a 28-year-old man.
P-482 to P-487, residents of Hirebagewadi in Belagavi district, contracted the virus from single source secondary contact P-128.
Patient 482 is a 45-year-old man, P-483 is a 38-year-old man, P-484 is a 80-year-old woman, P-485 is a 55-year-old woman, P-486 is a 42-year-old woman and P-487 is a 39-year-old woman from Hirebagewadi.
P-488 is a 18-year-old man from Chikkaballapura with travel history to Hindupur and Ananthapur in Andhra Pradesh, while P-489 is a 33-year-old woman from Bantwala in Dakshina Kannada is a contact of P-409.
