No permission to open shops, commercial complexes on Sunday: CoP Dr Chandragupta

Curfew will be implemented from Saturday 7 pm to Monday 7 am

Mysuru, May 23:- “Curfew will be implemented in the city on Sunday (May 24). Milk, vegetables, groceries and hotel parcel services are only allowed. Shops, commercial complexes will have to remain closed,” said Commissioner of Police Dr Chandragupta.

He was speaking to media regarding the curfew on Sunday to tackle coronavirus.

“Curfew will be implemented from Saturday 7 pm to Monday 7 am. Only essential services are allowed. Even wine shops are not permitted to open. If anyone is found violating the rules, strict legal action will be taken,” he said.

In view of Ramadan on Monday (May 25),  meat, fish and chicken shops will be open on Sunday.

“Check-posts allowing entry to Mysuru are further tightened. 700 people from outside states have already arrived in Mysuru. They are under home quarantine. As a precautionary measure, unnecessary passes are not being issued,” he added. (MR/KS)
