There will be no rainfall from February 15 to 19 in Mysuru district. The day temperature is expected to be 30-32°C and night temperature is expected to be 16-17°C. The relative humidity in the morning hours is expected to be 49-93 per cent and afternoon relative humidity is expected to be in the range 12 to 42 per cent. Wind speed expected to be 6-10 km/hour.
TIPS FOR FARMERS
Due to dry weather that may prevail in the next four to five days, farmers may take up irrigation to the dry land horticultural crops and other field crops depending on soil and crop condition.
The grains of the harvested crops should be properly dried by retaining moisture percentage of cereals 11-12 per cent, pulses-9 per cent, oilseeds – 8 per cent and vegetable seeds 5-6 per cent for long storage and also minimises the store pest damage.
Keep the cattle shed clean and warm. For maintenance of healthy milch animal provide a mineral mixture along with concentrated feeds. Vaccinate the dairy cow against the diseases.
Dropping of fruits in mango trees was noticed. To manage this, give adequate quantity of irrigation water (go for drip irrigation where ever it is possible).
