No water crisis this summer: Minister

Ordering officials to complete pending development works in the city, Revenue and District In-charge minister V Srinivas Prasad set a deadline till the end of summer.

Reviewing various development works in the city on Thursday, the minister chaired a meeting of officials from the Public Works Department, Mysuru City Corporation, Mysuru Urban Development Authority. He took stock of the pending works including the ongoing road works.

The officials briefed the minister about the pending projects where funds from the government was yet to be sanctioned. The minister directed the officials to prepare a report and submit to the government. He asked the officials to complete the works before the onset of monsoon.

Later speaking to reporters, Srinivas Prasad said that there will not be any drinking water crisis this summer as the government and the MCC have taken effective steps. “Though there are reports of rains arriving late and the imminent water crisis, the government and the MCC have taken measures to combat the water problem. There will not be any problem,” he said. Mayor B L Bhyrappa was present at the meeting.
