Mysuru/Bengaluru, February 25:- The City Elected Representative’s Special Court has issued a non-bailable warrant against Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha.
The warrant has been issued in a case pertaining to a post on Twitter the MP shared, insulting the actor-turned-politician Prakash Rai. Prakash Rai had filed a defamation suit against the MP’s post in February 2018 and despite several summonses for the hearing, the MP failed to appear before the court.
Court Judge B V Patil issued the non-bailable warrant and has posted the case on March 19 for the next hearing.
Meanwhile, speaking to media here on Monday, Simha tried to play down the whole issue. The BJP MP and the multilingual actor Rai are at loggerheads ever since he started talking against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at various platforms. (MR/KS)
