Mysuru, October 3:- World non-violence day was observed at Mahabodhi School, Saraswatipuram, in association with Gandhi Study Centre, Manasagangotri on the occasion of 149th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on Monday.
Senior Gandhian Prof M Karimuddin inaugurated the programme.
“The Gandhian principles are being forgotten. The educational values he advocated are not seen nowadays. Education should provoke one’s conscience. Youths don’t attend peace-oriented programmes as they do with entertainment programmes. It is sad to know youths are not turning up for Gandhi Jayanti,” he expressed his dissatisfaction.
Acting Vice Chancellor of UoM, Prof Dayananda Mane, Registrar D Bharati, director of Gandhi Bhavan, Prof S Shivarajappa, vice principal of Mahabodhi School, P R Dwarakeesh and others were present. (MR/BM).
