Note exchange: More time sought

Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has urged the central government to extend the time limit allotted to exchange the old currency notes.

The union also asked the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to hunt down the real black money holders instead of hurting in common people who are made to wait outside banks and ATMs for hours. “Though the government is saying demonetisation is to curb black money, not a single case has come to light so far,” said the union.

The CITU has asked the government to extend the time for exchange till December 31 also to allow the co-operative banks to exchange old currency notes in villages.
