Former Congress MP Adagooru H Vishwanath on Wednesday lashed out at KPCC for issuing a show cause notice to him accusing him of anti- party activities. He said he has not spoken against the party and questioned the motive behind issuing the notice.
Speaking at a press meet on Wednesday, Vishwanath said that he is a loyal Congressman and has never criticised or made any derogatory remarks against the party high command.
“I had just said that the Congress is a people’s party and Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjuna Kharge are the caretakers of the party. But my statement has been misinterpreted and a notice has been issued against me. I am not scared of any notices,” he added.
Reiterating that he never spoke against AICC leaders, Vishwanath said that he was just trying to explain to party workers and the people about the damage caused to the party image by the behaviour of some leaders.
“The party never bothered to take opinions from senior leaders. So, we were forced to express our pain openly in public,” he said.
Vishwanath said since the past 40 years, he has sincerely served the party at various levels, but KPCC president, by issuing a notice has caused embarrassment.
