A debate competition was held at the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, from November 25 to 27. Titled NLS Debate Junior 2016, the competition had teams of children, representing different schools across the state.
The event saw some good debating and discussion on various issues, ranging from the practice of Santhara and identity politics, to the violent uprising in Kashmir. Students were actively seen learning the art of convincing, using the right matter, manner and methods of engaging the debate and communicating their viewpoints.
Three teams from Grades 10, 11 and 12 from NPSI, Mysuru, represented Mysuru. Vishnu Mangalvedkar from grade 12 was adjudged the second best speaker in the overall championship, adding yet another feather in the cap of NPSI, Mysuru.
