NSFDC consultative committee meeting held  

The consultative committee of parliament for the Ministry of social justice and empowerment held its fourth meeting in the city on Monday.

The meeting focused on the duties to be performed by the National scheduled castes finance and development corporation (NSFDC). The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot. In the meeting he gave an overview of various welfare schemes that Ministry of social justice and empowerment and NSFDC are implementing for the benefit of scheduled caste and other groups.

Addressing the Media persons after the meeting Thaawar said: “Over 11 loan schemes and one grand scheme are given by the NSFDC. Financial assistance is provided under the loan schemes ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 3 lakh to SC entrepreneurs for setting up own business ventures. NSFDC is providing 100% grant for skill development training programme and stipend at Rs 1,500 per month per trainee in various fields.”

“We have been implementing green business scheme for the target group and these groups under the schemes can take up income generating activities which tackle the climate change and mitigate the green house effect along with income generation as per central government commitment.” He added.

Later, he stated that during the open discussion, members wished that NSFDC must have focus approach for the development of the target group and take concerted efforts to increase the channelising agencies to expand the outreach. “I assure to take the suggestion made to us in the discussion and the report of action taken on the issues will be presented before the members soon,” he added.

Minister for state Krishna Pal Gurjar, State Minister for social welfare H Anjaneya, MP Pratap Simha and others were present.
