NTM School controversy can be settled amicably: MLA GT Devegowda

Prime News, Karnataka, Education, Children, Memorial, Mysuru, July 3:- Reacting to controversy surrounding the Swami Vivekananda memorial at the NTM School, Janata Dal (Secular) leader and Chamundeshwari Constituency MLA G T Devegowda on Saturday (July 3) opined that it should not be made a big issue.

He said, “We have many writers and intellectuals in Mysuru. Let us call them all for a talk. There is always a solution for the problem.”

Devegowda said, “Swami Vivekananda is a highly respected personality and everyone knows his contribution to the world. We can retain the school and also build a memorial there and there is enough space. Let us not make it a big issue when the whole issue can be settled amicably.”

Reacting to Congress MLA Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah’s statement that JD(S) will bite the dust in the next Assembly elections, the JD(S) MLA said, “The people of Karnataka will decide who should be given power whenever the elections are held. I don’t think results depend on someone else’s statement. Elections are another 23 months from now.”

On his next political move, he said he would talk to the people of his constituency before taking a decision. (MR/GK)
