Mysuru, January 18:- “We have come from the forest area. We are not provided with any amenities. You don’t have to give us anything. We will go back to the forest,” said residents of H D Kote N Begur Hadis.
They held a protest rally in the city recently. More than 300 tribal people took part in the rally.
After the protest rally, a team led by zilla panchayat CEO Shivashankar, planning officer Prabha Swamy, health officers, and the entire district administration visited the tribal area of N Begur.
District President of AIDYO Harish H S asked the officials to solve the problems. With this meeting, the village panchayat started functioning after two years. It was directed that all the villagers would be provided with drinking water. The officials assured that funds will be released for electricity and street lights. Health officer and backward communities development officer explained to the tribal people about the government benefits for them. Hundreds of villagers were present. (MR/GK).
